The National Police arrested last week in Arrecife a base football coach from a well-known football club in the capital for allegedly sexually assaulting minor players on the team.

As La Voz has confirmed, the agents arrested the coach of Orientación Marítima last Tuesday, November 5. After being brought to judicial disposition, he was released with measures. However, the investigation is still ongoing.

The club has decided to preventively remove the base football coach after learning about "the rumors" and the publication in the press of the situation, as Basilio Coco, the coordinator of Orientación Marítima, has assured this editorial staff.

Since last Tuesday, November 5, the day of his arrest, the Management of Marítima decided to push him to take a step aside as a precaution, although he added that "we are not judges" and that they have not yet received official information about the judicial situation of the coach.

After that, Basilio Coco has indicated that the club has met with the families of the players to explain the situation and explain that, for the moment, he has been removed. The team rules out making an official statement until they know more details of the investigation.
