A flight between Lanzarote and Brussels returns to the Canary Islands due to a technical problem. As reported by the official X account of Air Traffic Controllers of Spain, the controllers remained in direct contact with their counterparts in Morocco to request a priority return to the César Manrique Airport.
The incident occurred on Ryanair flight FR8175, which departed last Sunday at 3:42 p.m. from Lanzarote Airport, with almost an hour delay. Specifically, the plane was a Boeing 737 Max 8-200.
Thus, the journey lasted only 33 minutes and the flight, which was scheduled to land in Belgium at 7:55 p.m., returned to the island at 4:15 p.m.
The Enaire control center in the Canary Islands provided them with the position so that they could approach directly and land on runway three. This change of course forced the extension of the approach time of the rest of the traffic until verifying that the runway was clear without incidents.
