The Criminal Court Number 3 of Arrecife has begun this Monday the trial against an agent of the Civil Guard, who is charged with a crime of reckless homicide, another against road safety and two more of injuries, for an accident that took place in April 2011.
In the accident, another agent of the Benemérita, Alejandro Cruz Vizcaíno, died, and two other people were seriously injured. After the accident, the driver, B.S., tested positive for alcohol in the breathalyzer test, in which she tripled the permitted alcohol level.
In addition to the Prosecutor's Office, the parents of the deceased are also involved in the case, as a private prosecution, represented by the lawyer Daniel Reyes Santana.

The accident took place on April 9, when the car left the road near El Cable and crashed into a palm tree. Four people were traveling in the vehicle, who were celebrating that the deceased was going to be assigned to a barracks in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, his hometown.
The driver was unharmed although she suffered a state of shock, while two other occupants were injured. One of them had to have his spleen removed and the other had injuries to his leg.
