National Police agents have arrested in Arrecife two women and a man, aged 49, 25 and 38 years old, respectively, and without a criminal record, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of theft and a crime of fraud.
The investigation began when the daughter of an elderly woman who needed care, reported that her mother was missing several jewels, in addition to money she kept in her safe. That is why the agents began an investigation, which focused initially on the woman who was dedicated to caring for the elderly woman.
As a result of the first investigations, it was determined that the detainee had made several withdrawals of money from the elderly woman's bank account, since, taking advantage of the trust and vulnerability of the victim, she had obtained the keys to her credit card. In total, she managed to withdraw, in different ATMs of banking entities, the amount of 9,000 euros in cash.
Likewise, the agents were able to verify that the detainee had been stealing different jewels from the family where she worked over time, to later, together with her daughter and her partner, sell them in buying and selling establishments, the jewels having a value of 12,000 euros.
Finally, the agents of the National Police located the three involved, proceeding to their arrest for the crimes of fraud and theft, being placed at judicial disposition.
