112 attended 1,105 calls for gender violence from Lanzarote from January to November, 2.3% more

The Care Service for Women Victims of Violence of the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands (Cecoes 1-1-2) received 1,105 calls for gender violence from Lanzarote from January to November of this year, 2.3% more than the same period of 2018, when 1,080 calls were registered from the island of Lanzarote, according to reports from the Canary Institute of Equality.

With regard to last November, there were 70 incidents of gender violence that were registered on the island, reflecting in this case a decrease of 36.3% compared to the eleventh month of the previous year, since then 110 calls were made from Lanzarote.

Of the 70 incidents of gender violence that were registered in November of this year, 42 were emergencies, "situations of imminent danger to life, property and / or rights of people"; 13 were urgent, "subjective situation that requires attention and may be prioritized", and nine for information, according to the Government of the Canary Islands.

The report of the Canary Institute of Equality also details that of those 70 calls for gender violence received by 112 from Lanzarote last month, 35 were for physical violence without sexual assault, 33 for non-physical violence and two for consultation.
