This year, their Majesties from the East were up early in Yaiza. From the very early hours of Saturday, they could be seen leaving La Geria to complete their car tour of each of the municipality's towns as a prelude to the participatory parade that the town of Yaiza experienced this Sunday at noon, in a cheerful, colorful and endearing atmosphere, blessed also by a radiant sun and good weather and all the illusion that always awakens the magical passage of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar who did not tire of greeting and handing out sweets from their camels.
Families, especially those with very young children, participated in Yaiza in a very peaceful parade, with an agile route along the town's main avenue, which allowed them to fully enjoy the details and spectacle of the procession that accompanied the three Wise Men.
The parade extended a few meters passing in front of the Remedios church towards the town hall and CEIP Yaiza to the Plaza de la Alameda. Residents positively valued the route, the time of the parade (12:30h), the organization and the new place of disembarkation of the Kings, and this was reflected in the high participation.
Animation, children's characters, music from the batucada 'Ritmos del sur' and smiles, many smiles, enlivened the first of the two parades in the south of Lanzarote that this year ended in the main square of Yaiza, to offer greater comfort and security to families in their closest encounter with their Majesties.
There, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Festivities, Daniel Medina, handed over the keys of the municipality to Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, who then patiently attended to all the boys and girls to listen to their requests, deliver boxes of sweets and take photos before moving further south to fulfill the afternoon parade in the tourist town of Playa Blanca.
The town of Yaiza enjoyed a parade full of joy and emotions, also the variety of games, activities and bouncy castles organized in the square during the preview, so the families had a good time and the children were delighted with the visit of the Kings to the town of Yaiza.
