El Almacén Square will host the Photography Festival this Saturday with activities for children, youth, and adults. From 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., there will be a market set up in the square where you can discover and take home unique pieces created by local artists. From textiles, illustrations, and collages to books, prints, and photographs. An opportunity to support independent art and local creation.

At 10:30 a.m., the documentary La mirada artesana will be screened, for older adults, which narrates the life of photographer Javier Reyes, who developed his activity in the north of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Minute camera for your family photo

At the same time, during the morning, family photos can be taken with the minute camera, which is a box camera that allows developing in a few minutes, in the same place, and has a black sleeve where the photographer is placed. This is a traditional technique that allows obtaining black and white photographs in just a few minutes, evoking the charm of past eras.

This is a unique experience to create an environment where families can share, as in the past, the experience of photographing together. Instant photos in Polaroid format will also be given away so that attendees can take away a memory of this special moment. The activity seeks to celebrate the bond between generations, offering each family the opportunity to preserve these portraits full of affection and nostalgia.

In the Music Kiosk of the Ramírez Cerdá Park, there will be a giant camera that you can enter to see how it works and learn in a fun way about the process of taking photos.

Guided tour and children's photography workshops

At 12:30 p.m., there will be a guided tour of the exhibition Embroidering the past with the future, curated by Desideria, which collects the gaze of Tenderness from the approach of the relationship with our grandmothers and grandfathers. A selection of photographs by various artists that is installed in the same square.

During the morning, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., children's workshops will be held so that those who participate can build their own photographic camera and discover a new way of thinking about images, of relating to time and movement.

Collective views on tenderness

In the afternoon, we will attend the session Collective views on tenderness, which proposes the presentation of different projects related to the theme of each edition, which in this case is tenderness. Different associations and artists, including SentirTEA, Rubén Plasencia, and Fran Rodríguez, will present lines of work and ideas that start from this concept as a social contribution to the environment.

The finishing touch to the party will be the music from the Canary Islands Alternative Music Festival with the concerts of "Ya no te quiero", "Los Blody", and "Denis Rood".

Veintinueve Trece is the only photography and visual arts meeting in the Canary Islands of these characteristics and one of the five with the greatest projection at the national level. This year it celebrates its IX edition with workshops, conferences, screenings, and activities open to the general public, which is increasingly interested in this type of quality content that invites reflection.
