Christmas also arrived in the municipality of Tinajo this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. before the attentive expectation of the numerous public that gathers every year next to the roundabout at the entrance to the town to be able to enjoy the magic that both children and adults like so much in these days leading up to the Christmas holidays.
Tinajo has become a benchmark of a hospitable municipality that makes everyone who visits it feel welcomed from the first moment. At the scheduled time, the mayor, Jesús Machín, arrived, the only public official who does not press the button that serves as a connection for the lighting, delegating to the person in charge of the team that carries out all the work of designing and assembling the sculptures.
These sculptures are spread over different points of the municipality, with the professional advice of Pepe, responsible for the electrical part, to whom the mayor grants the "minute of glory".
After the lighting and at the soco of the church of San Roque, the public enjoyed the musical performance of the Tinajo music band Peña de San Roque, directed by Professor Orlando Morales, and the Tinajo Choir directed by Professor Rubén Fariña, performing songs typical of Christmas.
Next, the nativity scene installed in the square was inaugurated and this year it is a recreation of the traditional architecture of Lanzarote, where the towns and neighborhoods of the municipality are reflected. The public was also able to enjoy the musical performance of the Coro Rociero A-Andalus entre alisios y Levante with a varied musical repertoire with Christmas overtones.
Jesús Machín, very excited, thanked the public once again for their presence and wished them all the best for the upcoming 2025.
