The municipality of San Bartolomé will host the XIII Mar en Calma on July 30, a summer and family festival of music and performing arts for all audiences that will begin at 6:00 p.m. in Playa Honda.
From the City Council they point out that in this edition you can once again enjoy a "fun and dynamic" program, with five performances on the avenue, at the height of the "Juan El Curita" beach, between Nasa and Ancla streets.
The Councilor for Culture, Alma González, explained that her department "has put together a varied and rich program, according to all tastes, to offer a pleasant family day in a summer atmosphere."
For his part, the mayor of the San Bartolomé City Council, Isidro Pérez, encourages all the residents of the municipality, visitors and the entire population of the island, in general, "to enjoy a day of surprises and fun in the town of Playa Honda."
The program
The events will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday the 30th with "The suitcase of stories", a family show by the clown Marisol and her magic suitcase of stories, who travel fantastic worlds together, with giants, fairies and princesses, among others.
An hour later, "My First Concert" will take place, with the Dubbi Kids band, a fun live experience for the little ones and the big ones to dance to the hits of this group and the craziest versions of the 80s and 90s.
At 8:00 p.m. "El Supositorio" will land, a show of humor sketches and theater by Jorge Galván, Conrado Flores, Paco Efegé, José Juan Ramallo and Domingo Efegé. The quintet of comedians invites you to spend an afternoon of high-voltage humor with a selection of the best moments of their career.
The show will be followed by a concert by street musician, comedian, double bass player and showman Fran Bajara at 9:00 p.m. "Fran Baraja is one of the most popular assets of current Canarian talent who has conquered the public with the fusion of styles and mixture of world music, relating them to the Canarian authenticity that characterizes him," they point out from the Consistory.
Finally, the day will end with a concert by the Catacumbia orchestra, which combines modern and danceable cumbia, with doses of psychedelia and progressive rock. A proposal from musicians with a long history on the local scene and a solid instrumental construction that will put the final finishing touch to the festival.
The event has been organized by the Department of Culture of the San Bartolomé City Council, with the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands, through MARES.
