The XI Crea Joven Contest of San Bartolomé already has winners. Daniel Rodríguez Báez, with 'Ours in abundance', has won the first prize, endowed with 800 euros, while Jordi Kenay Tirado Salazar received the second prize, valued at 400 euros, with the work "Mercadillo Lanzarote".

The contest was decided on Thursday night and since then the works submitted to the contest are on display in Terminal 2 of the airport.

A total of 23 works were submitted to the contest in the categories of painting, illustration and graphic design, since the theme of the contest for this year was the search for the poster announcing the Agricultural and Craft Market of San Bartolomé for the years 2020 to 2023.

The jury was composed of Diana Pérez Torres, artist and teacher of painting and crafts; Néstor Curbelo "HUGU", multidisciplinary artist and winner of the I Crea Joven Contest; and Ani Lopes Da Silva, Councilor for Youth of the City Council of San Bartolomé.

Promote art

The director of the airport, Juan Carlos Peg, congratulated the City Council for this proposal, the artists for their commitment to this contest and all those present, encouraging them to visit the exhibition, which will remain open to the public until December 9. The City Council of San Bartolomé highlights that, with this act, Aena supports "the art that is made in the municipality and island".

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, thanked AENA for its collaboration in providing this space to exhibit the works of the artists, as well as Cajasiete, represented in the act by Romina Sanabria for its commitment to this event. He also expressed his gratitude to the artists who have presented their works and congratulated the winners.

For her part, the Councilor for Youth, Ana María Lopes, thanked "the involvement of so many young people in this proposal that aims to promote art and publicize through different disciplines the creativity and good work done by our youth, this being an artistic launching platform." She also expressed her gratitude to all the people and entities that have supported this contest.
