Within the program of events organized on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Carmen of the Villa de Teguise, the main church of Our Lady of Guadalupe hosted, on the afternoon of last Wednesday, at 7:15 p.m., the already traditional Sacred Concert offered by the Coral Polifónica Villa de Teguise, an event that once again became a true meeting between music, spirituality, and artistic sensitivity.

Under the careful direction of Professor Nuvi Tavio García, the choral group, made up of fourteen female and three male voices, offered an exquisite repertoire composed of some of the most representative works of universal sacred music. The audience had the opportunity to enjoy great works such as Dona Nobis Pacem, by Mozart, Signore delle Cime, by Giuseppe de Marzi; Ave María, by Javier Busto, as well as other pieces of extraordinary beauty that were performed with notable technical rigor, exquisite tuning, and admirable artistic sensitivity.

As a grand finale to a memorable performance, the choir performed the hymn dedicated to the Patroness of sailors, "Virgen del Carmen Bella," an emotional composition that filled the temple with fervor and devotion, and was received with a prolonged and warm ovation from the attending audience.

One of the aspects that distinguishes each performance of the Coral Polifónica Villa de Teguise is the careful staging designed by its director. Nuvi Tavio García not only directs each of the interpretations with precision, taking care of the smallest detail, but also enriches the concert by offering the audience interesting reviews on the biography of the composers and an explanation of the content and meaning of the works to be performed, ensuring that each piece is understood and enjoyed with greater depth.

The concert was attended by the parish priest of Teguise, Juan Manuel Molina; the mayoress of the Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque; the councilor for Culture and Festivities, Andoni Machín; as well as councilors Eugenio Robayna, head of the Roads and Works Area, and Ana Nereida González, councilor for Social Welfare, who wished to support with their attendance one of the most anticipated cultural events of the festive program.

The interpretation of each of the works transmitted serenity, recollection, and emotion, making sensitivity remain on the surface throughout the concert. The perfect conjunction of the voices, the interpretive quality of the repertoire, and the dedication of all the components of the choir made possible an evening of extraordinary artistic level that was rewarded with repeated and prolonged applause from an audience that intensely enjoyed a performance prepared with dedication, care, and deep love for music.

Once again, the Coral Polifónica Villa de Teguise demonstrated that sacred music continues to be a universal language capable of moving the soul and ennobling religious and cultural celebrations.
