Ramón Pérez Cabrera, former farmer and ticket seller of the Tinajo cinema, was in charge, with the help of his niece, of officially starting the awaited Fiestas de San Roque de Tinajo. Pérez unraveled his life in a speech full of tradition and emotion.
He made a heartfelt journey through his life, from when he was born in Tajaste, until today when, looking back, full of nostalgia and memories, he is grateful for everything he has experienced in Tinajo, agriculture and cinema, basic pillars of his existence.
In the presence of the parish priest of San Roque, Francisco García Socorro, the mayor took the floor to officially inaugurate the Fiestas de San Roque 2025.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, dedicated some affectionate words to the town crier, whom he remembered, as a child, having seen him at the door of the Tinajo cinema. The mayor thanked him for the cession of some land to the town hall and highlighted a lifetime dedicated to the countryside and cinema in the municipality.
He ended his speech inviting the citizens "to the act for the fiftieth anniversary of CD Tinajo that will take place in the Municipal Theater tomorrow Friday and invited neighbors and visitors to enjoy the Fiestas de San Roque that this Saturday, in the afternoon, will have the traditional pilgrimage of the harvest with the soundtrack of the Parranda Los Gofiones".
