The 5th edition of the International Pocket Theater Festival, held in Tías, ended this October with the awards ceremony for the plays Té-cita, Entre nudos y compromisos and Inés Desabrochada, which won the first, second, and third prizes, respectively, with performances of a maximum of 15 minutes.
The Councillor for Culture, Pepa González, states that “we have put the finishing touch on this new edition of the Pocket Theater Festival which, once again, has filled our spaces with talent, creativity, and emotion. Congratulations to the winners and to the honorary and recognition awards, given to the theater directors Antonio Naharro and Salvador Leal.”
The first prize of this theatrical event went to the play called Té-cita, by La Compañía, starring Patricia Bermejo Otero, author and director, and Gabriela Pascual, two actresses who won over the audience with their talent and naturalness.
The second prize went to the performance Between Knots and Commitments, by Ángulo Producciones, performed by David Serna, also the director of the play, Bradley J. Ibrahim, and Brayan Saltos.
The third prize was awarded to Inés Desabrochada, from the Lanzarote Council of Performing Arts Company, with performances by Yolanda Coronado, Juana Betancor, and Cristian Rodríguez, under the direction of Baltasar de León.
The Festival Director, Alexis Mendiola, expressed his "gratitude to the Tías City Council for its constant support of culture and the performing arts, especially to the mayor and the first deputy mayor, who have always been close to the project, and to the Councilor for Culture, for her dedication and sensitivity."
