The Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, led by the Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, celebrates the success and great reception that the traditional Habaneras and Sea Music Encounter "Braulio de León" has had once again, which this Thursday celebrated its XXXV edition in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park, at the start of the San Ginés 2025 Festivities.
This event, consolidated as one of the great pillars of the patron saint festivities of the capital of Lanzarote, once again stood out for the extraordinary quality of the performances and for its value as a tribute to the distinguished Braulio de León, precursor of choral music in Arrecife and cultural reference of the island.
The artistic program of this XXXV edition was composed of highly prestigious groups and artists in the Canarian music scene. Alegranza Folk, an instrumental project originating from Gran Canaria, is led by musicians with extensive experience such as Miguel Afonso, Ivanoff Rodríguez, Ayoze García, Oriel Ray and Jorge Granados. Their proposal combines Celtic and island sounds, traversing an imaginary Atlantic arc that, finally, returns to Canarian folklore, offering a sound journey of great cultural richness.
They were joined by the voice of Almudena Hernández, a singer and actress from Lanzarote born in 1987, whose professional career began in 2004 in competitions and festivals. With a solid career, she has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Pastora Soler and has participated in national television programs such as Veo cómo cantas, always carrying with her the seal and musical identity of her land.
The instrumental finishing touch was provided by Too Brass Band, a group directed by Ayoze Rodríguez, which stands out for its ability to fuse traditional sounds with a marked folk spirit, linking the Canarian repertoire with European and Latin American influences. Their energetic proposal has led them to participate as an opening act in important festivals, conquering the public with their freshness and dynamism.
The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, expressed his gratitude to all the participants and attendees, emphasizing that "events like this reflect the identity of Arrecife as a coastal city, proud of its cultural and musical heritage."
At the same time, Vargas Avenue experienced the opening of the traditional stalls, decorated with nods to the customs of yesteryear. These spaces not only offer the possibility of tasting typical dishes, but also become a meeting point to enjoy the nights of revelry. This Thursday's was enlivened by the music of the Parranda Los Labradores.
