The Lanzarote Island Library hosts the exhibition “Galdós in 7 Canary Islands” from this Tuesday, July 6, until next Monday, July 12, an exhibition organized by the “Canarias, Tierra de Galdós” Commission on the occasion of the I Galdosian Centenary.
The exhibition, in which the Education area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote collaborates, coordinated by councilor Paula Corujo, opened to the public this Tuesday and is located in the library hall. At the time of its opening, a tour of the “Graphic memory of a forgetful” panels was made by Pablo Checa Merino, journalist, writer and member of the La Ciudad de Galdós cultural association.
The exhibition is divided into two distinct parts. The first, under the heading of “Graphic memory of a forgetful”, is made up of 16 panels illustrated with some of the most interesting portraits and photographs that are preserved of Benito Pérez Galdos, and that contain abundant information on biographical and bibliographic aspects of the author of “Electra”.

The second part is grouped under the title of “Books over 100 years old”, and contains 76 copies of the works of Benito Pérez Galdós, including “National Episodes”, novels, plays and stories.
The exhibition is curated by Plácido Checa Fajardo, and organized by the Commission for the Centenary of Benito Pérez Galdós, CanariasEBook, La Ciudad de Galdós and the Government of the Canary Islands, with the collaboration of the Education area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
Admission is free and, in addition, a QR code, inserted in panel 0, will allow visitors and readers of this catalog, if they wish, to take the complete «Galdós in 7 Islands» exhibition on their mobile phones: the 16 panels of the «Graphic memory of a forgetful» and the image and files of the copies of the «Books with more than 100 years» and the basic Galdosian bibliography.
