The Jameos Auditorium hosted the world premiere of the theatrical adaptation of The Double Man, by José Saramago, on Friday night.
Around five hundred people, including the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Mariate Lorenzo, the Minister of Tourism of the First Island Institution, Echedey Eugenio, and the president of the Saramago Foundation, Pilar del Río, among others, filled the emblematic space to enjoy one of the most anticipated premieres of the year.
Under the direction of José Martret, the actors Raúl Tejón, Kira Miró, Raquel Pérez, Sergio Otegui, Maribel Luis and Mon Ceballos, with the special collaboration of Nathalie Poza, lavished passion, personality, enthusiasm, wisdom, experience and enthusiasm to give shine to the theatrical adaptation of the work of the Portuguese Nobel Prize winner made by the playwrights Salvador Toscano and Félix Ortiz.
As Echedey Eugenio himself had pointed out in the previous days, the premiere of The Double Man was "intense and exciting" because it meant the meeting of two especially significant figures for the island such as César Manrique and José Saramago.
