The Teguise City Council celebrates the twelfth edition of the Teguise Music Showcase, which will take place on Saturday, April 26 in the historic center of La Villa. The festival will offer eleven uninterrupted hours of live music, from 12:30 to 11:30 p.m., with performances by eleven bands and artists "made in Lanzarote" distributed on three stages located in different points of the historic site.
Mayor Olivia Duque emphasizes the need to "continue promoting activities and events that consolidate both Teguise and Lanzarote as a cultural reference." "From the City Council we are very satisfied with the great stimulus that this festival represents for the local groups and artists, it is for activities like this that Teguise stands out every year as the cultural capital of the Island."
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Javier Díaz, explains that this event is 12 years old and "has established itself as a promotion platform for local artists." "The Teguise Music Showcase is a prominent event on the island's cultural calendar, a festival that we have helped to promote since its first edition, with great support and acceptance among the island's musicians, the public, and the merchants."
This year's lineup presents a diversity of musical styles ranging from indie rock to reggae, passing through trap or blues. The confirmed artists are Good Franco, Belice, Lidia Con Ello, Mampara Paró, Mandy Shadow, Dyga, Air Baifo, Imtima, Braguetas Rotas, Gagry and Emisora Clandestina, all of them representatives of the vibrant island music scene.
An environment to enjoy our heritage and gastronomic offer
Since its first edition in 2014, the Teguise Music Showcase has aimed to serve as a promotional showcase for bands and musicians from Lanzarote. The festival offers local artists the opportunity to perform before professionals from the music industry, including representatives of production companies, festivals, concert halls and specialized media, which has made this event a model of musical promotion of reference in the Canary Islands.
Likewise, it is not only a celebration of music, but also an opportunity to enjoy the charm of the historic center of Teguise, the former capital of Lanzarote established after the Norman conquest. Its cobbled streets and white colonial buildings, adorned with bare stone corners and carpentry stained in shades of green and ocher, provide a unique setting for this musical event.
During the festival day, the public can enjoy not only live music, but also the rich gastronomic offer of the municipality, creating a complete cultural experience that merges music, heritage and gastronomy.
