The Haría City Council concludes the Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Carmen 2024, with the celebration of the traditional maritime procession in honor of the patron saint of sailors, after more than a week of cultural events.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, has expressed his satisfaction with the development of the festivities and has congratulated the people of Arrieta for their participation. "These celebrations are a reflection of our identity for the patron saint of the municipality," he pointed out. In addition, he thanked all the people who have managed to make this festivity a success," he said.
The day began with a solemn mass in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, followed by the procession in which the image of the Virgin was carried by boat through the seas of Arrieta. The procession has been accompanied by numerous decorated boats and hundreds of neighbors, creating an atmosphere that recalls the connection of this town with the sea and with our fishing heritage.
The festivity has come to an end with various activities in the town square, marked by musical performances and dances, bringing together both residents and visitors.
