The San Pedro de Mácher 2026 Festivals came to an end this Monday after ten days of activities that have once again turned the town into a space for meeting, coexistence, and celebration. The broad neighborhood response and the high attendance at the various events have confirmed, once again, the deep roots of festivals that combine tradition, culture, sport, and leisure for all ages.
The official closing of the festivals took place this Monday with a religious service and procession in honor of San Pedro, accompanied by the Coral Marina de Puerto del Carmen, the Banda Unión Musical de Lanzarote, and the folk group Rubicón, in an event that once again brought neighbors together around one of the town's most deeply rooted traditions.
As a culmination, the Mácher Theater Group took to the stage again with the anticipated performance of Las costureras de Mácher, directed by Jonathan Ramírez. The performance, highly anticipated by the public, once again demonstrated the deep roots and quality of a group that has become one of the main cultural references in the municipality and one of the most awaited events of the festivals. Before the performance, recognition was given to one of its members, Angélica Saavedra Umpiérrez, who at 90 years of age continues on stage.
During the last weekend, some of the most outstanding moments of the program took place. The traditional playback, starring the children and young people of the town, once again won over the audience with performances full of enthusiasm, creativity, and boldness, becoming one of the most endearing and anticipated events of the festivals.
Friday's event brought together numerous neighbors and visitors at the popular barbecue and dance, which once again demonstrated the welcoming and participatory nature of the celebrations, seasoned with jareas, cheese, gofio, and traditional sweets.
Among the novelties of this edition, the celebration of the first Hamburger Festival (Mácher Burger Fest) also stood out, an initiative that was very well received. The event, accompanied by live musical performances, gathered a large audience and established itself as one of the great successes of the festive program, expanding the gastronomic and leisure offerings of the festivals.
The Tías City Council, through its mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Festivals, Miriam Hernández, thanks the work of the San Pedro Festival Commission, municipal workers, collectives, volunteers, and all the people who have made possible the development of a diverse and participatory program, as well as the involvement of the residents of Mácher in their festivals.
