Arrecife has actively participated this Saturday in the Pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen de Los Dolores, in an emotional meeting organized by the Departments of Seniors and Culture.
Both areas worked together, coordinating the preparations to facilitate the attendance of a hundred seniors, who traveled in two buses from the capital to Mancha Blanca to participate in the traditional offering that was delivered at the feet of the Patron Saint of Lanzarote.
The municipal delegation, headed by the mayor, Yonathan de León, and the deputy mayor, Echedey Eugenio, was also accompanied by traditional music and decorative details that highlighted the maritime identity, the solidarity character and the pride of the capital of Lanzarote.
The Councilor for Seniors, Rosmen Quevedo, appreciates the participation of the seniors and points out that "it is a pride to see how they continue to participate with such enthusiasm in our festivities. Their presence in the Pilgrimage of Los Dolores not only strengthens our traditions, but also reminds us of the importance of caring for and valuing those who have witnessed our history."
For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Abigail González, has highlighted the importance of the offering having elements linked to the fishing tradition of the city.
"We wanted to recover symbols of our fishing culture, so important for Arrecife. With this offering, we not only show our devotion to the Virgin, but also our commitment to preserving our roots," she continues.
