'Abstractions: Exploring the Realm of Imagination' is the title of the exhibition by Javier Sosa which, from April 7 to May 19, can be seen in the Exhibition Hall of the Santo Domingo Convent in the Villa de Teguise.
Javier Sosa presents a selection of series that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in worlds of creativity and expression. The main series, 'Abstractions', captivates with its abstract paintings full of color and dynamic forms, taking the viewer on a journey through the artist's imagination.
In addition, the exhibition presents three additional series that expand Javier Sosa's creative spectrum: 'Marinas': In this series, he merges abstraction with the inspiration of the sea,
creating paintings that evoke the vastness and beauty of the ocean in suggestive forms and colors.
'Landscapes': Here, the artist transports us to natural landscapes, with special emphasis on trees and terrestrial elements, reinterpreted through his abstract lens, inviting reflection on the relationship between nature and human imagination.
'Audioguide of the Canary Islands': This series presents reproductions or transformations of the original photographs of the various audio guides of the car rental company Cicar (photographs by Ildefonso Aguilar). These images capture the essence and beauty of the Canary Islands, providing a visual window into the rich culture and landscapes of the region.
About the author
Javier Sosa is a Computer Technical Engineer, pictorial artist and musician with a professional career that merges creativity with technology. From an early age, Javier showed interest in the technological and artistic world, initially through computer science and music. At the age of 13, he combined his passion for music with his computer programming skills, using the digital piano to compose songs for the games he developed.
However, his journey in pictorial art began self-taught in 2015, marking a new chapter in his personal and professional life. Since then, Javier Sosa has explored various techniques and styles, highlighting his predilection for abstract art. His focus on this style using acrylic paint on canvas and matter has allowed him to create works of great depth and expression.
As a computer scientist, he complements his professional experience with self-taught learning and artistic experimentation. His ability to conceptualize and develop creatively is combined with his skill in musical composition and his mastery of pictorial techniques.
