Agramar experienced a magical night this Wednesday with the grand Carnival Comparsas Exhibition 2025; a vibrant event where rhythm, music and color were the protagonists, organized by the Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio.
Presented by Demelza Viña, the show featured the participation of five comparsas, who offered a display of talent and energy on stage.
The Sur Caliente comparsa, with 26 years of history, brought to Arrecife its spectacular staging "Party on the Great Wall", a tribute to Chinese culture that earned them two awards in the prestigious Comparsas Contest of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Under the direction of Pedro Vizcaíno, the choreography of Yonay Alonso and the musical talent of Fran Brenes, the group delighted the public with a fusion of dance, percussion and an impressive wardrobe.
From the municipality of Teguise, came Los Cumbacheros. With 61 members and a trajectory that has led them to represent Lanzarote in the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, they offered their show "Aqua, from the depths of the Atlantic". With the direction of Sergio Niz, design by Borja Abreu and the batucada by Gesury García, they transported the public to an underwater world full of magic and movement.
The Los Guaracheros comparsa, which since its return in 2018 has innovated in each show, presented "Airavata and the protection of Indra". With 61 members and a fusion of tradition and innovation, the choreography of Diego Rueda and the costumes designed by Kilian Betancort transported the public to a story full of mysticism inspired by Hindu mythology. The batucada, directed by Alejandro Tejera, provided a vibrant rhythm with "Echoes at the gates of Swarga".
For its part, Los Timanfeiros, with 27 years of experience in the Carnival, offered their fantasy "Embracing the sky". With 54 members and a team led by Luis Martín, the comparsa offered an exciting show, accompanied by the batucada of Carlos Almaguer and the choreographies of Jony Gutiérrez.
Closing the night, Los Yaiseros dazzled with their show "Habibi, my love", inspired by Arab culture. Under the direction of Javier Jiménez, this comparsa founded in 2014 in the municipality of Yaiza showed a unique fusion of live percussion and carnival music, with the participation of the Ritmos del Sur batucada, directed by Willy Morales. The staging, choreographed by Ruimán Medina and with a wardrobe designed by Manuel Camejo, made the audience vibrate with its energy and elegance.
