Once again, the church of San Roque in Tinajo was the setting chosen by the Rancho de Pascua Archinech de Tinajo to celebrate the traditional 'Ranchos Gathering'.
On Saturday night, after the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by the parish priest of Tinajo, Francisco José García, the doors of the temple were opened wide to begin the long-awaited meeting.
This edition was started by the Janubio Parranda merged with the Municipal School of Music of Yaiza, directed by Professor Clotildo Martín. Formed by women and men, young and old, who with great enthusiasm and giving everything with their instruments and very well-tuned voices, performed a varied repertoire of Christmas carols typical of these holidays. The public that filled the two naves of the temple was able to enjoy popular Christmas carols such as Ya vienen los Reyes, Pastores a Belén, Lo Divino, Una sobre el mismo Mar by the composer and timple player Benito Cabrera, Cholito Jesús - a Peruvian Christmas carol, ending with the original medley by the Lanzarote singer-songwriter Rosana En Navidad. The attendees rewarded each of their performances with resounding applause.
The second part of the meeting was for the hosts. The 25 members of the Rancho de Pascua Archinech de Tinajo are directed by Professor Ivanhoe Rodríguez. Faithful to tradition, they began their performance with the masterful entrance through the central aisle of the church to place themselves in the vicinity of the Main Altar. During the entrance they performed 'El Corrido' to continue their performance with 'El Divino', 'Los Pastores en Belén', 'Vamos todos Juntos', 'Endecha' ending with the 'Zapateo', a theme with which they said goodbye making the exit through the central aisle surrounded by the applause of the public.
Once again, the members of the Rancho de Pascua Archinech gave it their all with a very well-tuned instrumentation and supervised at all times by Ivanhoe Rodríguez, always attentive so that instruments and the presenting voices all sounded as one. An objective that was more than achieved, demonstrating that when you work to keep alive the legacy inherited from the elders of the municipality, the tradition and continuity of the Rancho de Pascua Archinech is guaranteed.
