The management of the CEIP César Manrique Cabrera in Tahíche recognized the work that Francisco José Navarro, announcer of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero and presenter of the main social, cultural and popular events on the island, has been developing for the last half century. In addition, Navarro is a columnist for La Voz de Lanzarote and is also recognized for his commitment to the center, for collaborating in the dissemination of activities in the educational community.
With these words of welcome, the director of the center presented him with a commemorative plaque as a thank you and invited him to present the act 'Tahíche reads to Ángel Guerra'. Navarro, very grateful for the recognition, pledged to continue betting on the dissemination of Culture.
The event was held last Monday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the assembly hall of the CEIP César Manrique Cabrera, to promote reading in the family environment and learn more about the work of a local author whose literature recreates places close to the town in times past. Reading Ángel Guerra is an immersion in the knowledge of local history, Canarian culture, heritage, vocabulary and customs. It also included the participation of the Official Chronicler of Teguise, Francisco Hernández, and the professor of Literature, writer and researcher, Zebenzuí Rodríguez.
The activity consisted of reading aloud different stories and a chapter of Ángel Guerra, all aimed primarily at parents of the educational center on the occasion of the celebration of 'Book Week'. The organization has planned a parallel activity in the center's library for the care of boys and girls who come with their families. The event was interesting and participatory and a total of six texts were read, a story and five chapters from two novels by Ángel Guerra, such as 'La Lapa' and 'El justicia del Llano'.
At the end, the director closed the day thanking Francisco José Navarro for his collaboration in presenting the event, Francisco Hernández and Zebenzuí Rodríguez and all the parents for participating in the readings. With the family photograph, the act 'Tahíche reads to Ángel Guerra' was concluded.
