The week kicks off with the Lanzarote Visual Music Festival, featuring a multitude of film and music proposals. This Thursday also marks the start of the Lanzarote Literature Festival with writer Fernando Aramburu. In addition, silent film returns accompanied by chirping at the Warehouse, the Yoruba Festival of La Villa, there's theater, several conferences and book presentations, a performance workshop, and the fourth big Friday of Arrecife en Vivo, among other cultural surprises.

The Lanzarote Visual Music Festival brings us the posthumous film by acclaimed Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Freely based on the 1930 science fiction novel of the same name, the film is a meditation on the evolution, decay, and destiny of humanity, two billion years in the future.
The central premise is a message that the last human civilization, on the verge of extinction, sends to humanity in the present.

Under the Mask of Pleasure. Modern Times Festival
The Modern Times Festival invites you to the screening of “The Joyless Street” (Die Freudlose Gasse, 1925, Germany), a masterpiece of the New Objectivity movement.
With stark realism in its social themes and direct staging, it moves away from expressionist stylization to offer a critical and penetrating look at its time. On piano will be Lisandro Rodríguez, who composes and performs the music in real time, generating an intimate connection between image, sound, and audience.

Fernando Aramburu. Lanzarote Literature Festival
The Lanzarote Literature Festival 2025 kicks off with major writers from the national literary scene. The first event is with writer and essayist Fernando Aramburu, who will talk about how literature can become a tool for memory and reparation in the face of collective trauma.
The author of Patria will reflect, in a conversation moderated by the Festival Director Carlos Battaglini, on the role of the writer in the face of historical conflicts and the way to narrate pain with an intimate perspective.

Ten Books for an Island. Book presentation.
In parallel with the programming of the exhibition Ten Books for an Island at the Casa Amarilla, the Publications Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote proposed to a group of researchers and personalities from the island's cultural world the elaboration of ten works of essayistic reflection on the authors and books that were addressed in the exhibition.
The books are ‘The French Chronicles of Le Canarien’, ‘Los Majos’, ‘Among the Lava Fields’, ‘Lanzarote’, ‘Unpublished Lanzarote Architecture’, ‘Treasures of the Island’, ‘Lancelot 28º-7º’, ‘La Lapa’, ‘Mararía’ and ‘Lanzarote Notebooks’.

Arrecife Live. Fourth Friday.
Carlos Ares, Himalayas, and Niños Bravos headline the fourth big Friday of the Arrecife en Vivo Festival. With styles ranging from alternative pop and indie rock to more experimental sounds, the day brings together several proposals with their own identity.
Niños Bravos will perform at 6:00 p.m. on the Islote de Fermina; Himalayas will play at 7:30 p.m. in the Parque Islas Canarias, while Carlos Ares will be at Marina Lanzarote starting at 9:00 p.m.
The day closes with the adults-only session at the cruise ship dock starting at 10:30 PM with SVR Sexy Zebras and Virginia Díaz dj.
