The best of the week from July 24 to 30: classical music, jazz, Aoki, Estopa and much more

This week the Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands arrives in Lanzarote and the second weekend of the Lava Live Festival is celebrated with Steve Aoki and Estopa, among other proposals.

This week is full of musical shows. The second weekend of the Lava Live Festival is celebrated with stellar performances by DJ Steve Aoki on Friday and Estopa on Saturday in Agramar. 

In addition, among other proposals, the Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands arrives in Lanzarote and will perform in San Bartolomé Carnival of the Animals (1886) by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns and two concerts are held in Arrecife of the Canarias Jazz y Más Festival: Matteo Mancuso and Kennedy Administration. 

In the seventh art section, the Summer Traveling Cinema arrives in Playa Honda with 'Spirited Away', ' and 'Karate Kid' and the Warehouse also offers the best of the Festivalito de La Palma.

CINEMA

 

  • Summer Traveling Cinema 2025

The Summer Traveling Cinema returns to Lanzarote, touring all the municipalities until August 15. With this initiative of Tenique Cultural, the squares and corners of Lanzarote are transformed into open-air seventh art rooms. 

Films for all audiences, presentations that invite you to look with different eyes, open debates and a festive atmosphere make each session an opportunity to enjoy and think about cinema in community. 

This week the films 'Spirited Away' ' and 'Karate Kid' are screened in Playa Honda.

When: Thursday, July 24 and Friday, July 25 at 9:00 p.m.

  • Festivalito Tour 2025

For the fourth consecutive year, Cine Club Lanzarote presents a selection of the most outstanding short films filmed during the week of the Festivalito de La Palma.

 In addition, the most recent works of the students of the Pancho Lasso School, a breeding ground for local talent, will be screened, as well as the presentation of the documentary Yo también crucé about migration.

MUSIC

 

  • Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands (JOCAN)

The Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands (JOCAN) returns to Lanzarote with a chamber staff composed of eleven young people under the baton of Víctor Pablo Pérez. 

They will perform The Carnival of the Animals (1886) by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921), a suite in fourteen movements that he composed during a vacation in Austria as a kind of musical joke to entertain his friends.

When: Thursday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m.  

Where: Municipal Theater of San Bartolomé.

  • Matteo Mancuso. Canarias Jazz & Más Festival

As part of the Canarias Jazz & Más Festival, the Italian Matteo Mancuso arrives, one of the most versatile guitarists on the contemporary music scene. He combines elements of classical, flamenco and electric bass playing.

When: Thursday, July 24 at 7.30 pm.

  • Kennedy Administration

The last concert of the Canarias Jazz & Más Festival in Lanzarote is by the Kennedy Administration, one of the most promising projects on the current music scene in New York. 

His music is modern, sophisticated and at the same time, deeply rooted in tradition.

When: Thursday, July 24 at 7.30 pm. 

Where: Plaza de El Almacén, Arrecife.

  • Lava live 2025. Third Day. Electronic and Urban

DJ and producer Steve Aoki is the headliner of the third day of Lava Fest. His new album, Paragon, is full of vocal and production collaborations, in its 18 tracks, the Californian experiments with different forms of house music with African and Latin rhythms.

Also playing will be the phenomenon of Spanish rap and R&B Rels B, whose album “AfroLOVA'23” debuted in the Top 10 of Spotify in Spain and several Latin American countries.

The line-up for July 25 is completed by American singer-songwriter Justin Quiles, and DJ Sumaya VB, who on this occasion will offer a selection of melodic techno and afro tech house music.

  • Lava live 2025. Fourth Day. Estopa and company

With more than four million records sold worldwide, Estopa is the headliner of the fourth day of Lava Live 2025.  The Muñoz brothers are already a living legend of Catalan rumba dotted with pop-rock. 

The day will be opened by St. Pedro from Tenerife, trained in classical percussion, who rose to fame after his time on La Voz in 2017. His compositions have influences from soul, rhythm and blues and Canarian folk music.

Also this Saturday will be the music of Kapo, who combines Afrobeat with reggaeton.

  • Noon Canarias Festival. Germán López

Modern guitar concert by Javier Infante as part of the Noon Canarias 2025 festival. An initiative that seeks to generate meeting spaces between music, art and the public in unconventional hours.

Infante has explored different musical languages that are reflected in his style, throughout his career he has participated in important projects, both in the world of jazz and classical or traditional Canarian music.

When: Saturday, July 26 at 12:00 p.m. 

Where: Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz, Arrecife.

  • Aborá Femme

Aborá Femme is a musical show that is part of the Aborá Cel Music project, created to promote equality and empowerment of women through music. 

 It is a sound experience that merges voices, violins, cello and percussion.

When: Saturday, July 26 at 8:00 p.m.

Where: Cueva de los Verdes.

Ticket at 20 euros. 

 

  • XVIII Juan Ramón Rodríguez Sepúlveda Folk Meeting

The meeting will feature performances by the Gaida and Timbayba folk groups and the Adeje Municipal School.
