The traveling cinema initiative of Tenique Cultural continues this week in Tinajo, and there are also proposals for theater, literature, dance, circus, and the comedians Pily soy and Jorge Ávila.

In the music section, among other events, there is a recital by the soprano Tania Lorenzo and the pianist Ignacio Clemente with French songs and the Arrecife Summer Fest with Tiago PZK as the headliner.

La Voz offers you this summary of the most interesting cultural events of the week in Lanzarote with the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands.

This week the Fiestas del Carmen are celebrated in La Villa de Teguise, in La Graciosa and in La Santa.

 

 

CINEMA

 

  • Summer Traveling Cinema 2025

The Summer Traveling Cinema returns to Lanzarote, starting today in Arrecife and touring all the municipalities until August 15. With this initiative of Tenique Cultural, the squares and corners of Lanzarote are transformed into open-air seventh art theaters.

Films for all audiences, presentations that invite you to look with different eyes, open debates and a festive atmosphere make each session an opportunity to enjoy and think about cinema in community.

This week the films 'E.T. The Extraterrestrial', '' and 'A Fish Called Wanda' are screened in Tinajo.

Where: Next to the Teleclub of La Vegueta, Tinajo.

  • The Goat Girl

The Cine Buñuel of El Almacén presents La niña de la cabra, by the Spanish actress, screenwriter and film director Ana Asensio.

In the film, Elena, an eight-year-old girl, faces the recent loss of her grandmother while preparing to make her First Communion. Her friendship with Serezade, a gypsy girl who does not separate from her goat, will make her wonder if the world is really as she has been told.

DANCE

 

  • Flamenco de puchero. Workshop.

The Traslación Dance Festival offers a workshop led by Anna Villacampa where participants will approach emotional expression from the language of flamenco.

No previous experience is necessary, just the desire to move, applaud and get carried away by the rhythm. The organizers recommend wearing an apron, vest or shirt to play with this element.

THEATER

 

  • Murder me please. Faranduleando Teatro

Murder me please is a comedy of entanglements where thieves, police, unconditional friends and the ex of one of them are mixed.

The plot leads the characters to the most unlikely situations, where not everything is what it seems.

HUMOR

 

  • Jorge Ávila

Jorge Ávila, the comedian from Fuerteventura and based in Gran Canaria, presents his show 'This was not planned' in Arrecife.

  • Pily soy Yo

The actress and comedian Pily Batista, better known as 'Pily soy Yo', won the Regia Comedy monologue contest in 2016.

Her main objective is to show the public how healthy it is to laugh at oneself and live without complexes. She presents her show in La Villa de Teguise on the occasion of the Fiestas del Carmen.

CIRCUS

 

  • Aerial acrobatics

The Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz hosts this Saturday, July 12 at 12:00 noon, a circus show of aerial acrobatics with hoop.

LITERATURE

 

  • Conversation. Nuria Ruiz de Viñaspre and Mare Cabrera

The Riojan poet Nuria Ruiz de Viñaspre, accompanied by the Lanzarote writer Mare Cabrera, will talk about the former's book, Las abuelas ciegas, winner of the XXIV Nicolás del Hierro Poetry Prize in 2022.

It is a collection of poems whose seed was born in Lanzarote, as a literary journey into the interior of memory and the fragmentation of language, after meeting a woman with Alzheimer's on the island.

EXHIBITIONS

 

  • Nayra Martín Reyes. Xaxo

Artistic project by the Tenerife artist Nayra Martín in which she reflects on colonialism and the role of museums in the construction of historical narratives.

It takes as its starting point the history of the Guanche mummy discovered in the Barranco de Herques (Arico) in 1763, which was transferred to Madrid as a gift for King Carlos III and is currently in the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid, although it is no longer exhibited.

Where: Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz, Arrecife.

When: Inauguration this Friday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. Performance at 7:00 p.m.

The exhibition lasts until October 15.

  • Gino Marcelli

Gino Marcelli is a prominent jazz pianist, composer of soundtracks and author of original music for film. With a solid career in the Italian and international music scene, he combines technique, sensitivity and creativity in each of his projects.

  • Recital by the soprano Tania Lorenzo and the pianist Ignacio Clemente

This concert, promoted by the Royal Canarian Academy of Fine Arts in collaboration with the regional government, offers a musical journey through the richness and diversity of French song from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century.

Throughout the program, universal themes such as love, nostalgia, nature and spirituality are explored.

  • XXXI Festival of the Cultural Association "Acatife"

The XXXI Festival of the Cultural Association "Acatife" is held in the Municipal Tent of La Villa de Teguise. The guest group is "La Trova del Llano", from Albacete.

  • Solidarity concert by the Casual Big Band. Red Cross.

Next Friday, July 12, the Casual Big Band will take the stage of the Tías Municipal Theater at 8:00 p.m. to offer a solidarity evening full of swing, jazz and classic rhythms inspired by cities such as Chicago, New Orleans and New York.

  • Tiago PZK. Arrecife Summer Fest

The Arrecife Summer Fest returns with the Argentine singer Tiago PZK as headliner this Saturday, author of hits such as Fue Culpa Tuya with Luck Ra or session 48 of Bizarrap.

Other artists present will be the Murcian singer Walls and Noan. In addition to Marta Umpiérrez, Aduen Amaya and Ludo Vera DJ. On Friday the djs Sofía Cristo and El Cejas will play.
