Complying with the 'Island Christmas' program, the Arrecife Choral Association, directed by Professor Alfonso Duro Cabezón, moved to the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores in Mancha Blanca last Friday afternoon.
After the Eucharist, he offered a wide repertoire inspired by songs typical of these Christmas festivities. The 20 choristers arrived very excited and thus be able to offer the best to the Virgin of Los Volcanes since some of them lived the historic day of the recent descent of Los Dolores to Arrecife.
Among the songs they performed, the public was able to enjoy some of these compositions; Nochebuena in Canarias, Adeste Fideles, Ay del Chiquirritín, Dona nobis Pacen and Noche de Paz among others.
The Arrecife Choral Association was formed in 2007 by a group of friends united by their love of choral singing and thus keep alive the musical career of their distinguished teacher, citizen of Arrecife, Braulio de León Navarro. For the choristers, being able to sing next to Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores was an experience they will not easily forget, the very grateful public rewarded them with their applause.
