The Archinech Easter Ranch of Tinajo has been awarded the Gold Medal of the municipality. The event was held this Wednesday night at the Municipal Theater and began with the performance of the Rancho from the hall to the stage, with the interpretation of one of the most representative songs in their repertoire, alluding to Christmas. Then, a video was shown that collected a part of the history from its beginnings, in the decade of the seventies, when a few neighbors, who had belonged to some of the old ranches, decided to join together to sing the Pascuas touring some of the streets of the municipality. As they passed, they were invited by the neighbors with sweets and products typical of these holidays, such as trout, roscos, mimos, past fruit, cake or raisins. All this washed down with good wine from the area, homemade mistela or Monkey's anise.

The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, went on stage to dedicate a few words to the members of the Archinech Ranch who, very attentive and excited, listened to the message of encouragement to continue preserving a very important part of the cultural heritage of Tinajo. Machín promised to help them in everything that the town hall that he presides over needed to continue leading the legacy inherited from those old ranches, which in Tinajo numbered up to seven, although the most prominent and remembered were those of José Barrios in La Costa, León Pérez in La Vegueta or Los Quinteros de Tajaste. All of them were the reflection as a reference so that at present the members of the Archinech Easter Ranch continue to champion a heritage for which we must continue working and caring with great affection without faltering.

The most emotional moment of the night occurred when Mayor Jesús Machín presented the Gold Medal to the president of Rancho Archinech, Urbano Hernández, who, very excited and surrounded by his colleagues, gave a words of thanks, mentioning that the Gold Medal was also an achievement of all those who have been part of the group. Today some have died, others are older and there are also those who have wanted to take a break. Likewise, Urbano thanked the previous distinctions they have received from the Tinajo City Council. In 2014 they were named town criers of the festivities of their patron saint, San Roque, and a few years later, in 2019, as town criers of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores. The Gold Medal was displayed in a showcase located in the hall of the theater for all those who wish to see it. The protocol act ended with a song and then the exhibition "Living tradition to the beat of notes" was inaugurated, located in the hall of the theater, and which includes a series of photographs of Rancho Archinech throughout its journey since its foundation.
