With extraordinary public participation and animation, La Villa de Teguise continues to intensely experience the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a program that continues to bring together neighbors and visitors around events full of tradition, coexistence, and entertainment.

Last Sunday, at 8:30 p.m., the municipal tent hosted one of the most anticipated and applauded events of the festive program: the traditional adult playback, a show that once again demonstrated that enthusiasm, camaraderie, and the desire to enjoy do not understand age.

After several months of rehearsals, preparation, and enriching coexistence among all participants, the time came to take the stage to show the fruit of intense work carried out with enormous dedication, taking the utmost care of every detail of the costumes, characterization, choreography, and staging. The result was a brilliant show that delighted the numerous audience who, once again, completely filled the venue, rewarding each performance with warm applause, loud laughter, and continuous expressions of admiration.

The master of ceremonies, Delia Fernández, hosted the evening with the professionalism, charm, and closeness that characterize her, introducing one by one the protagonists of an edition that featured the participation of eighteen women and men, the true architects of an unforgettable night.

The opening of the show was dedicated to the Old West, in a moving tribute to those emigrants from Teguise and Lanzarote who participated in the founding of San Antonio, Texas, thus remembering the deep historical and cultural ties that unite the Canary Islands with the United States. The scenography, the characteristic cowboys, and the incorporation of the famous Can-Can dance provided color, dynamism, and a brilliant start to a night full of surprises.

From that moment on, the audience fully embraced each of the performances, enjoying a varied repertoire in which the participants brought to life, with great fidelity and enthusiasm, unforgettable figures from national and international music. On this stage, characters inspired by beloved artists such as Rocío Jurado, Luis Aguilé, Karina, Natalia Jiménez, Luis Fonsi, and moving tributes dedicated to two great icons of song and show business like Raffaella Carrá and Rocío Jurado herself, paraded.

The humorous note came from the unmistakable Juanito Panchín and a series of funny sketches that made the attendees laugh out loud, turning the municipal tent into a space where joy and good humor were the true protagonists of the night.

As a culmination to a simply extraordinary evening, all the members of the adult playback performed a fun and emotional final number full of optimism and sportsmanship. With a masterful Zumba class, they sent a message as simple as it was inspiring: age is just a number when there is enthusiasm, a desire to live, and the wish to share happy moments. Their enthusiasm was so contagious that the audience stood up to join them, following the steps of the choreography, putting the finishing touch on a performance that will remain in the memory of all present.

Once again, the adult playback of La Villa de Teguise became much more than a show. It was a magnificent example of coexistence, friendship, personal overcoming, and citizen participation, demonstrating that popular festivals find their greatest wealth in the people who, with generosity and enthusiasm, dedicate their time to keeping traditions alive and giving smiles to an entire town.
