The Acatife Cultural Association is preparing to celebrate an important milestone with the presentation of its new album, "Mi Pueblo y César", this Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater "El Salinero" at 8:00 p.m. in Teguise.
This innovative work is the culmination of the last decade of experience on stage, marking the group's first foray into a natural recording space. Acatife has created an album that fuses the richness of the traditional rhythms and sounds of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands with its inimitable creative stamp, addressing the territory and its people, from all perspectives.
The album's release coincides with three significant anniversaries: the 40th anniversary of the Acatife Cultural Association, the 600th anniversary of the city of Teguise, and the 100th anniversary of the illustrious Cesar Manrique, a conejero artist of international fame.
The album was recorded in the emblematic enclave of Jameos del Agua, in a live concert inside the volcanic tube, which was attended by the community of Lanzarote as an active part of the recording. The result is a celebration of the traditions, island, population, legends and the legacy of Manrique, whose love for the natural and cultural beauty of the island remains a source of inspiration, also for Acatife.
The presentation of the album will be an exciting event, with the Lanzarote artist Isabel Cabrera stringing together, like lightning, the prologues of each creation and guiding the public through each theme of the album. In addition, the talented Almudena Hernández will lend her voice to the song that gives the album its generic title, "Mi Pueblo y César".
After the presentation, the Acatife Cultural Association will make the physical disc available to the attending public, offering music lovers the opportunity to own a part of this tribute to the rich history, the intriguing legends, the vibrant culture and the indomitable natural territory of Lanzarote.
