The residents of the town of Tao celebrated this Sunday the festival of San Miguel Arcángel in style and as tradition dictates, after enjoying with the family and some other invited friend to share the special lunch and snack with the rich and famous artisan pastries seasoned with homemade liqueurs and wines from their own harvest, the Eucharist began.
At 7:00 p.m. and wearing their best clothes, the neighbors gathered in the church to participate in the Mass presided over by the parish priest of San Bartolomé and San Roque de Tinajo, Francisco José García, with the entire assembly participating in the songs. Once the Eucharist was over, the procession with the image of San Miguel Arcángel took place accompanied by the celebrating priest, the municipal authorities and the neighbors, making a tour of the main streets of the town.
Back in the square, next to the church, the members of the Folk Group La Gran Aldea from Teguise were waiting to carry out the offering with the best of traditional songs and dances that were widely applauded by all those present.
At the end of the offering, the image of San Miguel Arcángel returned to the interior of the church and the neighbors and visitors moved to the Sociedad El Fomento de Tao where they were invited to taste an enyesque by the board of directors, which put the finishing touch to the festivities of San Miguel Arcángel in the town of Tao.
