The Cactus Garden will add a new element to its varied offer this Saturday, January 14: Symphonic Gardens, a series of concerts that will take place on the second Saturday of each month until May at 11:00 a.m. with the aim of surprising visitors who are in the old rofera transformed by César Manrique.

The pianist and composer Ernesto Alemán will be in charge of inaugurating Symphonic Gardens, offering a repertoire of his own works. This Saturday, in addition, the premiere of "Fantasy of the Aires de Lima de Valsequillo" will take place, a work specially composed for the occasion.

Alemán's style pivots between European minimalism and classical music of the 19th and 20th centuries, with a special predilection for Russian composers of the first decades of the last century. Passionate, also, about film music, his works have a marked programmatic nuance with the intention that the listener can immerse himself in his own thoughts and landscapes through music.

"We complement the experience of the center with this original and innovative proposal, which is the result of our effort to give visibility to the creativity, effort and talent of the cultural fabric," explained the CEO of the Entity, Benjamín Perdomo.

Cultural projects of the Tourist Centers

Symphonic Gardens is one of the projects that has benefited from the Tourist Centers' commitment to boost the cultural sector, channeled through the million euros included in the Entity's budgets for the 2022 and 2023 financial years, respectively.

From the organization they point out that "the Symphonic Gardens concerts do not involve any additional cost to the price of admission to the Cactus Garden. That is, whoever is in the Cactus Garden at that time will be able to enjoy the pianist's concert, or, whoever wants to attend must pay the corresponding entrance to the center according to the current rates."

The initiative, by Ubay Alemán, offers free and outdoor musical experiences during the visit to the Cactus Garden. "It is a project designed specifically to enhance the experience by generating a complement that reaches all audiences," highlights its creator.

The second Symphonic Gardens event will take place on February 11 by Christopher Pérez from Lanzarote, and the Chimbet trio. It will also be from 11:00 a.m.

The following will take place during the months of March, April and May, and will come from artists from the rest of the archipelago as well as from other places in the national territory.
