Know the road closures during the celebration of the Pilgrimage of Los Dolores

Traffic restrictions will be applied on Saturday, September 13 on various island roads to guarantee the safety of pilgrims

The Cabildo of Lanzarote announces the traffic closures on the occasion of the traditional pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen de Los Dolores, which will take place this Saturday, September 13. 

On the LZ-20, the road that connects Arrecife and Tinajo, the lane towards Arrecife will be closed from the Mozaga roundabout to the Monumento al Campesino, from 00:00 to 22:00 hours. 

On the LZ-30, the road that connects Teguise and Uga, will be closed from the roundabout of the Monumento al Campesino to Calderetas street, from 8:00 to 22:00 hours, and from Calderetas street to the crossing of La Florida, diverting through Montaña Blanca, from 11:30 to 12:30 hours.

On the other hand, on the LZ-46 that connects Tiagua with Mancha Blanca, the lane will be closed in both directions from 10:00 hours on the 13th to 6:00 hours on Sunday the 14th.

In addition, on the LZ-56, the road that connects Mancha Blanca and La Geria, will be cut in both directions from 8:00 hours on Saturday to 6:00 hours on Sunday the 14th.

On the LZ-58, which connects Masdache and La Vegueta, will be closed in both directions from 8:00 hours on Saturday to 6:00 hours on Sunday the 14th, in the area from El Peñón to La Vegueta.

Likewise, the LZ-67 (La Santa-Yaiza), will be cut in both directions from the hardware store of Tinajo to Chimanfaya street, from 15:00 on Saturday until the end of the pilgrimage.

Finally, on the LZ-409, the road that connects Mozaga and La Vegueta through El Peñón, the lane will be closed in both directions from 8:00 to 6:00 hours on Sunday the 14th. 


 

Tips for the pilgrimage

The Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote recommends that people attending the pilgrimage plan the route in advance and use appropriate footwear. It is essential to bring water, food, a small first-aid kit and the necessary medications, as well as maintain constant hydration and foresee the appropriate clothing and attire. 

During the pilgrimage, you must follow the instructions of the authorities, Local Police, Civil Protection and volunteers, moderate alcohol consumption and, if traveling at night, use flashlights and reflective elements.
