The town of Playa Honda celebrated last night the traditional night of San Juan, an event that the Consistory has described as a "resounding success in family public participation."
The neighbors enjoyed all the programmed activities, which began at 5:00 p.m., in two different areas: the beach and the avenue at the height of Mesana and Botavara streets, and on the beach at the height of Trancanil street.
The public enjoyed a wide agenda of beach volleyball workshops by the Geranios Volleyball Club, as well as a San Juan doll workshop, by Adriana Sandec. There was also a workshop to learn how to customize t-shirts, taught by Diana Pérez, in addition to board games, with the game of Lanzarote and La Geria, guided by Javier García and Carolina Lorenzo.
Families made their forays with the "giant games", and enjoyed the Latin rhythms workshop by Tony Biyan and Ayose Medina. In addition, a first contact workshop with "Ultimate Frisbee" was held and an exhibition of the students participating in the 2021/2022 course, by Ultimate Club Mubidisk.
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, appreciates the atmosphere during the events, becoming "an authentic party for families, where each member had their moment to enjoy this magical night throughout the afternoon and evening."
The afternoon was gaining ground and the Treintytantos concert began, which made the large audience dance, sing, jump and enjoy themselves to the fullest on the beach until 10:30 p.m., giving way to the spectacular burning of the San Juan bonfire.
The bonfire was lit with torches by the mayor, Isidro Pérez, and the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, before a multitude of people who were waiting for the moment. The act had the musical accompaniment by the Batucada Guaychara, which encouraged to join the celebration, guiding the public to the surroundings of the great bonfire, accompanied by fantastic luminous dolls dancing and moving to the rhythm of the drums.
As a culmination to a day of numerous events and workshops, the evening closed with music by Dj Ángel, who also won over the youngest audience in the house.
The Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, points out that there was "exceptional weather to enjoy the wonderful avenue and beaches", and that the huge influx of family public "lived with great joy, each and every one of the proposed activities."
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, thanks all the people who have been behind each of the actions carried out, so that everything was a success, as well as all the people who watched over the security, the Department of Festivities, and all the areas involved so that San Juan was perfect. "Thank you!", he exclaimed.
