Playa Blanca Drag Queen Gala

The Drag Gala is a true attraction of Playa Blanca that waits for and enjoys every year the most transgressive show of its Carnival as if it were the first time, thus, the massive response of a new fantastic night in the Plaza del Carmen confirms that adults and children fully enjoy the artistic and libertarian proposal that nine outstanding drags from the Canary Islands offered this Friday.

Scenic force of an entire assembly of costumes, headdresses, music, choreography and acrobatics on a colorful and spacious stage where the queens invited by the Yaiza City Council displayed their art very loaded with joys and emotions.

Combination of art and vindication as the same egalitarian spirit of good drag work, which in Playa Blanca, for example, put its staging at the service of the awareness message on the care of nature and animal welfare, confirming that creative expression is a reliable way of reflection.

Frenchy Morgana, Eider, Asiria, Enea, Hocklin, La Tacones, Armex, Sethlas and Vulkano delighted the southern public with their work, teamwork that is complemented by dancers, extras, choreographers and sound and lighting technicians, professionals who are outside the important spotlights to project the show's visibility in its real dimension.

The municipality's troupes Los Timanfeiros and Los Yaiseros opened the Drag Gala exhibiting their enormous artistic potential of touch and dance as groups that create that unbridled and at the same time rational enjoyment that is Carnival. Wendy, a guest singer, also shared two pieces from her repertoire at the Gala presented by the actor Mariano Peña and the Canarian comedian and presenter Dani Calero.

The public also discovered the fantasy of the Queen of the Yaiza Senior Group, Loli Ribeiro, who walked across the stage radiating sympathy accompanied by her group of dancers. The seniors of Yaiza form a dynamic group that develops endless recreational, educational, sports and artistic activities very present in the festival and cultural agenda of the municipality of Yaiza, and of course, Carnival is one of them, where they also parade in the arena with their own float.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Celebrations, Javier Camacho, thank the participation of neighbors and visitors who enjoy the Carnival with the purpose of making a toast to the joy of living.
