The Arrecife Carnival celebrates tomorrow, Monday, the awaited Drag Queen Gala 2026 with eleven participants on stage
The show, framed within the events organized by the Department of Festivals, directed by the deputy mayor Echedey Eugenio, will start at 9:00 PM at the Arrecife fairgrounds
The Arrecife Carnival 2026 will experience tomorrow, Monday, February 9, starting at 9:00 PM, one of its most anticipated events with the celebration of the Drag Queen Gala, which will take place at the Arrecife fairgrounds and promises a night full of spectacle, fantasy, and diversity.
In this edition, there will be eleven drag queens participating who will compete to win the crown, arriving from three islands of the Archipelago: six from Gran Canaria, four from Lanzarote, and one from Tenerife, reflecting the richness and plurality of drag art in the Canary IslandsThe gala will be directed for the first time by Oswaldo Cabrera, known artistically as Drag Ávalon, who assumes artistic direction with enthusiasm and responsibility, facing this new creative challenge within the carnival program of the capital of LanzaroteThe show will be hosted by Iván Padrón, Lena Evans, and Vanessa Artiles, a trio of presenters who will bring rhythm, closeness, and dynamism to a night designed to be enjoyed from beginning to end.The gala will kick off with a powerful opening in which more than 180 dancers and extras will participate, along with outstanding carnival groups such as the Timanfeiros and Cumbacheros troupes, in addition to island drag queens and the Xtreme Up dance group, who will add strength, color, and local talent to the stage.Among the invited artists of this edition, Paca la Piraña, Satin Greco, the current winner of Drag Race España, and the singer J Kbello, who will provide the musical finale to a gala designed to thrill and surprise the audience, stand outThe Drag Queen Gala is part of the official program of the Arrecife Carnival 2026, organized by the Department of Festivals of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio, and is consolidated as a space for the celebration of freedom, creativity, and diversity
