In a moment of introspection and redefinition of values, Lanzarote is preparing with the launch of an impactful audiovisual clip that shakes the foundations of the local artistic scene. Driven by the creative director and producer Ubay T. Alemán, from the production company ROFE, more than 30 multidisciplinary artists collaborate for a single purpose, to proclaim responsible artistic consumption.
The call for "responsible artistic consumption" is a reminder of the importance of "knowing and supporting authentic artistic projects." The initiative proposes that we value "not only the quality of the production, but also the principles that support each work." Not all events or exhibitions are the same, and this project promotes a "more selective and conscious" approach, reports the producer.
"The change in the art industry will not happen overnight, but it begins with the willingness to listen, rebuild, learn and collaborate." The artistic community of Lanzarote "seeks not only to talk about improvements, but to actively implement them," says Alemán. "In Lanzarote, the Canary Islands and in general, there is a need for unity and action."
"In Lanzarote, the Canary Islands and in general, there is a need for unity and action."
The project recognizes the unique value of Lanzarote as a natural and cultural paradise. In addition, it highlights the importance of "balancing mass tourism with a genuine commitment to local culture and art." A call is made to the authorities to invest in the artistic-cultural industry and create a space for "reflection and dialogue."
"The loneliness" that often accompanies the artist is a theme that resonates deeply in the artistic community. This project aims to serve as a response to all those who have shared similar experiences and have struggled in silence for years. It shows that, although our realities are unique, art has the power to unite us and share understanding.
The audiovisual launched on September 26 of this 2023 is born from a "deep desire for the valorization of art in the Canary Islands" and a firm commitment to "emerging local talent." The artists involved have joined forces to create an audiovisual manifesto that highlights "the diversity and creativity" that flourishes in Lanzarote, as a manifesto of the production company.
This statement is a call to action and reflection, inviting all residents of Lanzarote and art lovers to join this initiative that celebrates local talent, promotes culture and questions the excessive focus on tourism.
