Translation suggests change, creation, and innovation. True to its name, the dance festival directed by Lanzarote artist Acerina H. Toledo concluded its tour of the municipality of Yaiza this Thursday with **three sessions** held between October and this first week of November **in Femés, Yaiza, and Playa Blanca**. The event featured the performances of nine companies, the first-time participation in the festival of a Canary Islands folk group, Güerma, and in the recreational and educational section, a dance workshop involving Yaiza's seniors, a program that as a whole leaves a legacy of high participation and evident interest in the art of movement

The whisper of the wind in Femés and its surroundings of memory, the exclamations of admiration from the children of the Yaiza school, or the murmur of the resting waves on the cliff of the Castillo de Las Coloradas and the very history that the fortress recalls accompanied the artistic spectacle prepared by Traslación.

A total of 270 boys and girls from CEIP Yaiza were this Thursday the main spectators of the school session in Plaza de la Alameda. Pieces that seek the natural and urban, journeys towards overcoming and the strength of the body to convey past and present experiences captivated the boys and girls

There is no age limit for discovering different registers of the language of movement, and Yaiza's students, along with teachers, mothers, and fathers, enjoyed a morning touched by art thanks to the companies Sifer Cypher (Lanzarote), Indalecio Séura (Castilla y León), and Daniel Rodríguez (Galicia).

In the late afternoon and evening, the magic shifted to the Castillo de Las Coloradas, its surroundings hosting a Translation session in 2024, and this year the atmosphere and the companies' excellent work more than justified their return. A spectacular performance by the guest artists before a predominantly adult audience that gave a standing ovation to the guests: Paloma Hurtado (Tenerife), La Macana (Galicia), and Daniel Rodríguez (Galicia). It was an artistic proposal of journeys to a single destination, of nostalgia and evocation of the Caribbean, of Cuba, the cradle of culture, and also an expression of Galician tradition

The first Translation pass in the municipality of Yaiza was hosted last Friday in October by the town of Femés. The session began at sunset, in front of the church, with the Reinier Alfonso Dance School (Lanzarote), a group of seven artists who awoke to reveal their inner journey observing the sunset and the Femés viewpoint.

The audience then moved to Plaza de San Marcial to enjoy the performance of the Güerma Cultural Musical Association, a risky and novel choice to incorporate a folk group into the contemporary dance program, but it turned out well and the festival organizers indicated it's an idea worth repeating.

As night fell, the companies Jacob Gómez (Valencian Community), Carla Sisteré (Catalonia), and Abián Hernández (Gran Canaria) arrived. A journey of self-exploration and adventure, also an evening of a blend of dance and theater full of plasticity and a culmination of creativity, representing the configuration of a puzzle that conveys unity. The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, highlights the "organizational effort" of the festival directed by Acerina H. Toledo and guarantees the municipal commitment to ensure the continuity of Traslación in YaizaFor his part, the Yaiza councilor for Culture, César Rijo, thanks "the good work of the artists and all the technical team behind the shows, the organization of the festival and its care in selecting the program and the participation of the public, which encourages us to continue investing in culture."
