The Cabildo of Lanzarote encourages residents and visitors to participate in the Wine Run Lanzarote 2026, one of the island's most representative initiatives linked to sport, landscape, and local product, which already exceeds 1,300 registered participants with several weeks to go before the deadline, scheduled for next June 7.

The 14th edition will be held on June 13 and 14 in the protected landscape of La Geria and will once again unite sport, gastronomy, landscape, and local product around one of the most unique agricultural environments in the Canary Islands. Participants from 19 different nationalities have already registered for this edition.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, highlights that "the Wine Run allows us to show the world an agricultural landscape built with the effort of generations of winegrowers and farmers from Lanzarote." He also points out that "this initiative also contributes to strengthening the attachment of the local population to their territory, bringing many people closer to the knowledge of La Geria, its cultivation system, and those who keep this activity alive."

For his part, the Minister of Landscape and Food Sovereignty, Samuel Martín, explains that "La Geria is an international example of adaptation to the territory and coexistence between landscape, agriculture, and sustainability." He also adds that "the Wine Run helps to value the daily work that exists behind this environment and encourages both residents and visitors to get to know firsthand the role of winegrowers, wineries, and professionals linked to the primary sector."

Among the notable data from this edition is the increase in female participation, with more women registered than men so far, as well as the growth of participants between 50 and 60 years old, an increasingly common profile in this initiative linked to landscape and active tourism.

The Wine Run Lanzarote 2026 will again feature three main modalities: a long race of approximately 23 kilometers, a short race of 12 kilometers, and a 12-kilometer trek, in addition to parallel activities and proposals linked to the Wine Festival throughout the weekend.

Interested individuals can complete their registration until next June 7 through the official race website sipamlanzarote.com/winerun
