This Thursday the festival was officially presented at a press conference, marking the beginning of a new edition full of humor, talent and commitment to culture.
Between the months of June and December, Lanzarote will host a new edition of the Jameos International Humor Festival, a proposal from the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers that will bring some of the most prominent comedians from the national and international scene to the island. All this in a scenic environment as special as the Jameos del Agua Auditorium.
This festival is consolidated as one of the great cultural bets of the Centers, by combining quality leisure, direct connection with the public and a program designed to excite, entertain and reflect.
Ángel Vázquez, counselor of the Centers, highlighted during the presentation that “the Jameos International Humor Festival reaffirms our commitment to bringing culture closer to citizens, promoting proposals that excite, connect with the public and reinforce the cultural life of the island.”
Also Goyo Jiménez, one of the artists on the bill and present at the press conference, wanted to underline the uniqueness of the space: “Acting in a place like Jameos del Agua is a real privilege. It is not only about the beauty of the environment, but also about the energy that this space transmits. It is as if the earth itself joined the show.”
The festival will start on June 15 with the Canarian actress Toni Acosta and her show Una madre de película, a comedy that portrays with humor and tenderness the moment of the "empty nest". She will be followed on July 8 by the Argentine Fede Cyrulnik, who will arrive for the first time in Lanzarote with Evolushow, a fresh and irreverent stand-up show that combines improvisation, everyday humor and zodiac parodies.
Tickets for both shows will be available in the coming days at www.ecoentradas.com, and you can also purchase a special cocktail to enjoy after each performance in the surroundings of Jameos del Agua.
The poster is completed with:
Millán Salcedo (September 19): Preguntamelón, a monologue full of anecdotes, memories and his unmistakable style.
Martita de Graná (October 17): Martita Sea, everyday, feminist and sharp humor about life, age or singleness.
Goyo Jiménez (November 18, 21 and 22): presentation of his book on the 18th and the premiere of his new show on November 21st and 21st.
Dani Mateo (December 20): ¿Por qué no te callas?, an acid satire on current social and political affairs.
Each performance will be an opportunity to celebrate culture, shared laughter and scenic talent in one of the most special auditoriums in the world.
With this edition, the festival once again places Lanzarote on the national cultural map, betting on humor as an expression of well-being and creativity.
