The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium announced this Monday a new training action to instruct the population in the use of fire extinguishers in view of the celebration of the popular bonfires that will take place on June 23 on the occasion of the traditional Night of San Juan.

The workshops, which will also offer basic knowledge in security matters to know how to act in emergency situations, will be taught in person in the two days prior to this celebration, in the Consortium's facilities. Specifically, on Friday, June 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The president of this organization, Francisco Aparicio, has assured that the objective is to guarantee that all citizens are prepared to enjoy this holiday safely: “We believe that prevention and education are key to avoiding incidents and ensuring that everyone can enjoy the night of San Juan without worries,” he said.

In addition, for those interested, a fire extinguisher will be provided in order to avoid or minimize any risk of fire in their respective bonfires. Those interested in receiving the training may register on the website of the Consortium, or by calling 928 804 004.

In this way, the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium strengthens its commitment to training and prevention during the summer season. As this body recently announced, the campaign This summer, safe dip will soon be launched on beaches in the 7 municipalities and La Graciosa, to teach how to act in emergency situations in the aquatic environment.
