Writer Lana Corujo consolidates her presence on the national literary scene with her novel Han cantado bingo, published by Reservoir Books and already in its seventh edition. A work that, from Lanzarote, places the volcanic landscape and island memory at the center of contemporary narrative.
On September 28, Corujo participated in BookFriday, a cultural event promoted by the Madrid association Soy de La Cuesta, which brings together booksellers and projects linked to the emblematic Cuesta de Moyano, one of Madrid's historic book locations.
As part of this event, the author was interviewed on Radio Nacional de España, on Radio 3, during the program “Hoy empieza todo,” hosted by Irene Valiente and Nacho Álvaro, from booth 22 at Cuesta de Moyano. In the conversation, Corujo discussed Lanzarote's role as a literary territory and presented a perspective where the landscape and its material tensions function as a narrative engine.

Likewise, she signed copies of “Han cantado bingo” at the “Moyano on the Metro” event, an initiative that connected the centenary of the Cuesta de Moyano Book Fair with the centenary of the Madrid Metro, recreating the traditional stall format at the Nuevos Ministerios station. There she was **accompanied by writers such as Javier Sierra, Adriana Murad Konings, Ana Jarén, and Cristina Oñoro**.
At 7:30 PM, the author also participated in a public meeting at La Casa Encendida alongside Esther Ferrero, a journalist for Radio 3 and part of the team for the program “Efecto Doppler.” In a conversational format, the talk titled “Games and Toys” explored the playful in literature from different angles, based on a selection of readings chosen by Corujo herself, which included Agustín Espinosa's “Lancelot, 28º-7º,” a key reference for thinking about an insular and critical modernity
Recently, Lana Corujo has been honored with the “Como una ola” Award, presented by the Librería de Mujeres of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in an edition that also recognized authors such as Marta Sanz and Pilar Adón, as well as the publishing house Minúscula. “Han cantado bingo” tells a story set in Lanzarote, structured around two sisters and a volcano, and has become one of the most talked-about titles in recent narrative for its ability to weave a poetics of the territory without folklorism, attending to the intimate and the collective with a recognizable and contemporary voice.
In addition to her work as an author, Lana Corujo directs the Lanzarote Literature Encounter "Verbena," organized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, a space for thought and creation that reinforces the island's role as a place of active cultural production, not just a setting.
