Last April 11, the Municipal Theater of San Bartolomé celebrated the D&M Art Awards 2026. The gala, produced by D&M Producciones, was not only a showcase of talent, but a human tribute that left moments of deep emotion and messages of support for the artistic sector.
Nadia de Santiago: A Lanzarotean heart
One of the most moving moments of the night was starred by actress Nadia de Santiago, winner of the "Malpaís de Cristal" award. Visibly emotional and unable to hold back tears, the performer confessed before a captivated theater that she considers Lanzarote her true home, a personal and artistic refuge that has marked her career. Her speech was a reflection of the general tone of the night: all the award winners went up on stage overcome with emotion by the affection and the detailed tribute paid to their figures.
Music, reunions and local talent
The stage vibrated with top-level performances like that of the Marius John Band. The audience witnessed a historic moment with the reunion of all D&M casts, a scene that summarized years of scenic creation. Tradition and mastery were handled by Domingo Corujo, Néstor Corujo and Toni Cantero, while the most purely choral and emotional note was provided by "El Cribo Canta", who, along with soloists Ángela Luque, Mónica Arencibia, Mary Reyes and Selene Márquez, offered a show that brought the auditorium to its feet.
Justified absences and the affection of Helena Bianco
Vanesa Romero, Kike Pérez and Max Marieges, who could not attend the event due to unavoidable work commitments, were present in the spirit of the gala through the screen, thanking for the award and the affection of the island. On the contrary, the legendary Helena Bianco was indeed present to collect her award, taking advantage of her intervention to recall the immense affection she has for the Canary Islands, a land with which she maintains an unbreakable bond.
One of the most moving moments of the gala was the presentation of the "Faro" Award to the Association of Oncohematological Families of Lanzarote (AFOL). With this recognition, the organization wanted to highlight the tireless work of psychological and social support that AFOL carries out with the patients and families of the island, remembering them as "the light that guides through illness".
Roll of Honour 2026:
● AFOL (Association of Oncohematological Families of Lanzarote): Award “Faro”.
● Nadia de Santiago: Award “Crystal Badlands”.
● Helena Bianco: Award “Sound Legacy”.
● Toñín Corujo: Award “Artistic Trajectory”.
● Blanca Rada: Award “Voice”.
● Juana Saavedra: “Scenic” Award.
● Vanesa Romero, Kike Pérez and Max Marieges: Awarded in their respective categories (Cinema, Smile and Alma TV).
A cry for the survival of the artist
The director of the gala, Daniel Moisés, used his speech to deliver a necessary and brave message. He dedicated the evening to his fellow producers and artists, denouncing the daily "survival situation" that the sector experiences given the uncertainty of not having a monthly salary. It was a recognition of the resilience of those who keep the flame of culture alive despite economic difficulties.
With the success of this edition, the D&M Art Awards are consolidated as a benchmark for the entertainment industry in the archipelago, managing to attract both national stars and the local community in a celebration of culture in all its forms.
