The Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora concert series continues its journey this Saturday, August 23, at 7:30 p.m., with a new musical event at the La Degollada picnic area, one of the most peaceful and suggestive enclaves in the municipality.
The space hosts this second stop of the itinerant series starring Lajalada, the musical project of the Gran Canaria artist Belén Álvarez Doreste, recognized for her fusion of electronics, pop and Canarian folklore in a deeply intimate and experimental sound universe.
After the success of the inaugural concert in Uga by the jazz fusion duo ExperienCE, which brought together more than a hundred people, the series maintains its commitment to musical experiences that invite you to stop, listen and inhabit the landscape through art. The Councilor for Culture of Yaiza, César Rijo, encourages the people of Lanzarote "to experience this new and captivating proposal that has unconventional spaces as a further stimulus to enjoy art, culture for all."
Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora, promoted by the Yaiza City Council and produced by Rofe, proposes a monthly meeting until December with live music in different towns and places in the south of Lanzarote, always in a small format and with free access.
On this occasion, the public will be able to delve into the universe of Lajalada, one of the most unique voices on the contemporary Canarian music scene. In 2021 she released her first album, DMÑNNS, an album that won the Canarian Music Awards for best pop-rock album and best song of the year.
Her proposal combines electronic layers, organic rhythms and a deep lyrical sensibility to build soundscapes that oscillate between the earthly and the dreamlike. The live show is an immersive experience, where technology and roots come together in an emotional and sensory journey.
Lajalada understands music as a space for experimentation and connection with the environment. Her presence in Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora embodies the spirit of the cycle: respectful, close music, rooted in the territory and open to new ways of listening. "Each place has its own resonance, and taking a concert like Lajalada's to La Degollada is a way of returning to the essential: the land, the silence and the possibility of creating from there," explains Ubay T. Alemán, creator and director of Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora.
The project will continue to hold concerts on the penultimate Saturday of each month, from June to December, touring different towns and natural spaces in the municipality. Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora is a continuous invitation to reconnect with the environment through music, art and active listening.
