The Parranda Marinera Los Buches premieres a new board of directors elected through the internal electoral process of the association. The new president, Juan Antonio Machado Santana, has expressed his satisfaction for "the great reception that the people of Arrecife and the authorities of Lanzarote have given to La Parranda." In that sense, he has expressed his "surprise and joy for the unanimous support that the candidacy of Los Buches is receiving to receive the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands 2023".

Machado has also thanked "the important support they are receiving from the Art and Culture Centers, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Arrecife City Council and the associations and personalities in the field of culture and the humanities, who have shown their support so that this unique tradition in the Canary Islands with centuries of history, continues to survive and shine both in carnivals and in the rest of popular acts and celebrations".

Likewise, he highlighted that they are not only a carnival association, but that they innovate "through the popular port folklore", recognizing the excellent work that the musical and artistic director Javier Bravo, together with the members, have been doing in recent years, with the group becoming an essential sign of identity to understand the port culture. In addition, he thanks the dedication of the outgoing president, José Julian Villanueva, who for six years has dedicated a great effort and affection to keep the legacy of Los Buches alive, he also joins the words that he pronounced in the act that the Arrecife City Council carried out to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the association, where he emphasized the "values of perseverance, effort and commitment they have for the port city".

La Parranda is immersed in the celebration of Carnival and in the campaign in search of support for the Government of the Canary Islands to grant them the Gold Medal for their commitment and fight for the survival of a unique sign of identity. During this 2023, they plan to carry out a program of events, events and celebrations, which will be announced after the Carnivals and in which all the people of Lanzarote, La Graciosa are invited to participate actively.
