Caleta de Famara began its 2024 festivities this Sunday with the proclamation by the town's neighbor, Juan José Duque, known as 'Juanito'. The person in charge of giving the proclamation was one of the first to have a stall during the festivities, a charismatic citizen who spends the summer months in his house in Caleta de Famara. The town crier was accompanied by the mayor, Olivia Duque, and the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Díaz.
The town crier was in charge of summarizing what the Caleta de Famara festivities consist of. The beginnings of the festivities, the important people who were present from the first festivities, their course, the first stalls, among other notable memories, were highlighted. In addition, before the proclamation, the festivities included a theatrical show performed by the residents of Caleta de Famara and a concert with the group 'Jaleo' after the proclamation.
The festivities will continue with their program throughout the week. On Monday there was a chess tournament and mandala workshops, activities that were followed by the children's playback 'LosChirrimiles' and the 'Café con Leche' concert. This Tuesday there will be a gift lottery, and on Wednesday, among the activities, there will be an urban art show.
Before the weekend, Thursday will be the traditional pilgrimage and the night of revelry, while on Friday there will be a skate championship, the performance of the comedian Kike Pérez and at night, the traditional festival.
For Saturday and Sunday, the island will be able to enjoy the day party and the night festival and on Sunday, a mass and procession and the 'Water Festival' at noon, starting at 2:00 p.m., which would end the Caleta de Famara 2024 Festivities.
The Councilor for Festivities, Javier Díaz, has emphasized to La Voz that "the festivities have taken place with a large influx of people, both on the day of the proclamation and during its events."
