The night of this Saturday, August 23, will be etched in the collective memory of the municipality of San Bartolomé as one of those evenings that are lived with the heart. On the eve of the municipality's big day, residents and visitors gathered in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente park to enjoy a highly anticipated concert: the return to the Lanzarote stages of the unmistakable José Vélez, the "Canarito", who offered a show full of emotion, nostalgia and closeness.
At 9:30 p.m., and before a devoted audience of around 3,000 people, the Canarian singer appeared on stage under the tent installed for the festivities. Accompanied by a band of eight great musicians, Vélez displayed his art for almost two hours, in a musical journey that touched the soul of several generations.
Songs like: Un Año Más, Romántica, A Cara o Cruz, No por Favor, Canarito and Amor con Amor se Paga resonated strongly in an audience that did not hesitate to sing each of the songs from beginning to end. It was a night of emotional reunions with a voice that has accompanied the lives of many, becoming the soundtrack of loves, farewells and celebrations.
Emotion was also felt on stage. José Vélez, visibly moved, did not stop thanking the affection received and the warmth of the Lanzarote audience, who applauded him on multiple occasions.
At the end of the concert, the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, and the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, shared with the artist and congratulated him on the resounding success of his performance, highlighting the importance of having figures of his stature in the patron saint festivities of San Bartolomé.
As a finishing touch to a magical night, the sky of San Bartolomé was illuminated with the traditional fireworks, which put the special touch to an evening full of emotion, music and Canarian feeling. The unanimous applause of the public sealed what was, without a doubt, one of the most special nights of the San Bartolomé patron saint festivities.
