The San Bartolomé City Council invites neighbors and residents from all over the Island to the concerts of José Vélez and Edwin Rivera, the great performances that will put the finishing touch to the Patron Saint Festivities of the municipality.
Both concerts will be held this Saturday, August 23, within the framework of the festivities, as a prelude to the Big Day, in which the Solemn religious function and procession with the Municipal Band in honor of San Bartolomé will take place.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, is pleased with the "course of the festivities to date and invites the entire population to enjoy two singers of international stature, since José Vélez has carried the name of the Canary Islands in his several decades of career and Edwin Rivera has demonstrated his talent in salsa music all over the world."
The Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, recalls that José Vélez's performance will begin at 9:30 p.m., and will be followed by fireworks in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente park, and, subsequently, Edwin Rivera will perform from 11:00 p.m. in the same location, concluding the night with the popular verbena, with Leyenda Joven and DJ Ángel Pérez.
In addition, the religious function on August 24 will begin at 12:00 p.m., touring the streets San Simón, Rubicón, Calderetas and Párroco San Martín.
Among other outstanding events during this week is the Senior Afternoon on August 22, at 6:00 p.m., in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente park; the verbena on August 22, with the groups Café con Leche and Swing de Norte; the Horse Race in the Teguise Agroindustrial Complex, on August 23 from 5:00 p.m., or the theatrical performance 'Escena Cero', by Compañía Julaga, at 9:00 p.m. on August 24, as the last act of the Festivities.
