The City Council promotes the revitalization of the Municipal Library with the project Haría once upon a time. Mayor Alfredo Villalba states that this plan "not only promotes reading and citizen participation, but also reaffirms responsibility with local culture."
The Haría City Council, in collaboration with the Trib-Arte Cultural and Social Association, has launched the project Haría once upon a time, a revitalization plan for the Municipal Library, which will be developed from October 4 to June 30, 2025. This program aims to turn this space into an active and accessible place for the entire community.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, states that this plan "not only promotes reading and citizen participation, but also reaffirms responsibility with local culture." "Our purpose is to increase the number of users and consolidate new uses and habits around knowledge, turning the Library into a dynamic place in constant activity," he says.
For her part, the first deputy mayor and councilor for Culture, Evelia García, underlines the inclusive value of the project. "This program represents a unique opportunity to revitalize our library and turn this didactic space into an accessible reference for the entire community," she says.
This idea is designed to promote the habit of reading, creativity and cultural exchange among the inhabitants of the municipality, offering activities that include children, youth, adults and the elderly. Among the most outstanding actions are reading clubs, creative workshops, book presentations and events on special dates such as Finaos Day, Christmas or Book Day, among others.
The project will have the collaboration of the narrator and workshop facilitator, Cristina Temprano; the philologist and music specialist Marta Ranch Maestro, among other professionals. Likewise, the participation of local authors is expected in book presentations and other literary events.
